I don’t think you can delete a thread (only admins and moderators can do that). However, you can delete your own post provided there are no replies after that post. Once someone has replied after your post, you can’t delete it any more; the best you can do then is just to edit your post.
ohh !! nooo !! that's bad!! it should'nt have been like this !! there should have some option to delete our own post even if some has replied for that !! What do you think !!
Well..thanks for reply : )
The trouble is that this has the tendency to disrupt the flow of the discussion. If the thread is only between you and one other person, if you delete your posts in that thread, it may look as if that person is talking to himself/herself.Originally Posted by Yash
Besides, I don’t think it’s necessary to delete your own posts. You can still edit your posts. Instead of deleting your post, you can simply “edit out” the contents, perhaps adding a brief note explaining why you are taking back your post.
I think editing your post after someone comments on it is a bad idea, unless it is for spelling mistakes. That can be misused by someone trying to make the person who replied look like a jerk or moron.
Alternatively the commenter can quote the post he/she is commenting on. I know someone on another forum who always does that for this very reason.Originally Posted by SuperNatendo
