As my handle name implies, I used to be a creationist, but now I accept evolution.

I grew up in a Christian family, so I had been taught creationism. But over the years, I had "evolved" so to speak. I have a very keen interest in the natural world. I used to believe in the young earth, and then I believed in old earth, but not evolution. Then I started believing in evolution (of all life except for man) after majoring in Zoology in college. Now I believe in the evolution of man. I'm still Christian, and sometimes it's difficult to relate to others of the faith about this issue. I'm reading books about how to reconcile acceptance of evolution with the Christian faith. They're quite interesting resources.

Does your family and do your friends try to re-convert you back to a literal interpretation of the bible? Likewise, are you currently more comfortable with creationists or evolution-types?

They never really tried talking me back to a literal interpretation. I guess they're okay with what I believe. For science-related issues, I prefer to talk with evolutionists. But not necessarily for religious issues.

Perhaps one of the first things you might want to consider changing is the way you view the universe around you. Stop believing and start observing. Understanding how things work is not a matter of belief, it is a matter of observing correspondingly to that which is explained, while trying to explain that which is observed.

I'm still Christian, and sometimes it's difficult to relate to others of the faith about this issue. I'm reading books about how to reconcile acceptance of evolution with the Christian faith. They're quite interesting resources.
Bad idea. There is no reconciliation of faith based ideologies and nature. You simply need to read and understand evolution without religious intervention.
