Thread: Falling Off...

I was reading today's The Other Coast comic:



...and I was reminded that I actually do have a friend who fell off a mountain.

That brings a question to mind: How does one actually "fall off a mountain?"

I mean, wouldn't that only apply if you fell and landed beyond the geological formation of the mountain? Would be one hell of a fall.

Or, do we consider just the act of falling from a part of the mountain (such as a cliff) an act of falling off the mountain itself? If that's so, couldn't it also be said that anyone "falling off the mountain" is actually "falling off the planet?"

Yep, she did. Although I don't think she climbs mountains anymore. :P

I fell down a mountain on my mountain bike. I landed on some soft avalanche flattened pine trees though. Probably would have died otherwise.
