    Just out of curiosity...

What do you do for a profession?

Personally, I'm a college student and I work at a greenhouse, so that's not real exciting...

I'm a high school student, and on Saturdays I work in a cafe.
The cafe is a nice place to work. Nice boss, free coffee, good salary and I can eat the delicious cakes and salads for free. :-D

I guess you refer to the acronym:
    W.I.F.E. =
    Washing
    Ironing
    Fucking
    Etc.

That should be "you're." His limited spelling abilities must be contagious!

    stand back y'all...

    professional scientist coming through.

    watch the freak go.

    pity the fool.

don't let him near small fluffy animals.

    weep for his family's future.

dwell on his vast knowledge of avoiding real work.

be amazed by his ability to hang on to his science career while it went extinct already several times.

but above all don't turn him into your enemy because being a scientist often goes hand in had together with being a total asshole and vindictive bitch.
"Kill them all and let God sort them out."

Just started an engineering 'foundation programme' at university, and working part time for an electrical retailer. I'm two years behind with the education, because of complications at college. I should have started my degree in electronic engineering a year ago, but now I won't start for another year.

Ambition is to get a job in analogue IC design as soon as I can after that (doubtfully straight away), but I'd love to work for an aerospace company or something too. As long as I'm designing/fixing circuits, rather than taking basic measurements, then there will always be original challenging problems to solve.

Area manager for a DVD rental franchise. If I didn't love movies, I'd be insane by now. Started reading DR WHO in 6th grade and never looked back.

top man yourself. its good to see a wide range of people on here with similar interests. my point of view is it doesnt matter what job you do or have, we're only here once its our duty to learn as much about life as we can, and about what those before us have learned. unfortunately there isnt enough time to learn everything, my only regret is leaving it too late to make a dent in it...........doh!

another scientist, over here. working at the moment in biomedical research, but going back to school in the near future for behavioral ecology - and it will probably be for a quite a while. Ah yes, nothing like being a professional student.

that was a rather elegant sentiment, beats666. glad to have a person such as yourself join us here.
Man can will nothing unless he has first understood that he must count on no one but himself; that he is alone, abandoned on earth in the midst of his infinite responsibilities, without help, with no other aim than the one he sets himself, with no other destiny than the one he forges for himself on this earth.
    ~Jean-Paul Sartre
