As far as I know, our psyche has a defense mechanism. And one of these mechanisms is "forgetting".That is, something negative happens and our psyche gives a signal to the brain, the brain to memory, and this is simply erased or blocked.I would like to know more about this. How to deal with this and is it possible?

There is no evidence of a "psyche"distinct from the brain. And memory resides in the brain too.

There is a behaviour known as trauma blocking.

Do you remember when the benefits of medical "brainwashing" were touted(about 10 years ago iirc)?

I'm sorry, I realized my mistake. Why do you think this mechanism works for someone in the same way, while for someone it is completely opposite?Perhaps you could recommend articles / sites where you can read about this in more detail and professionally?

I'm afraid not. My subject is physical science rather than psychology. But maybe somebody will show up who can help.
