Hello.I'm new to here and to be honest i only made this account to ask 2 Questions because Ican't find anything about it anywhere.I'm growing pure Copper Crystals in a CuSo4 Solution with electricity. Jar 1 runs on 3 volts and 600 milliamps, Jar 2 runs on 19 volts and 6 amps.

Question 1: The Crystals in Jar 2 are growing very quickly, but they easily fall off of the Cathode. Why is that

Question 2: The Crystals in Jar 1 are growing rather slowly over the course of Days or even Weeks but in this Jar, the Crystals are solid and do not fall off of the Cathode. Why is that

Im very confused by that and I can't seem to find an explanation somewhere or make one up myself.

    Any Help is appreciated, thanks.

I think it's to do with the rate you are forming the crystals, in the second jar you have a much higher voltage and current, you will form copper quite quickly and the crystals get large and heavy enough to fall of the cathode in a short space of time. In the first jar the current and voltage are much slower and the copper will form much more slowly. It will take a long time for them to get heavy enough to detach from the cathode and it may take so long that they can form quite strong links to the cathode material (depending on what it is made of).

Seems to be the only logic answer for that... Thanks!
