For those of you who live in the U.S. and know what i'm talking about, what do you think of the new "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" show on tv? I have my opinions, but i'll see what the rest of you have to say first...

It is a sure sign of the end of the world. It shows just how network executives think of their viewing audience.

A 5th grader, I assume it refers to a person in their 5th year of schooling, 9/10 yr old? if so it's cathing on in the uk, where we seem to call it 'year 5'. Well eith a bit of luck the show won't hit our screens for another 2 years at least, and then it'll be on sky, and cable won't get it....

Yeah, MB...It's a game show where contestants compete against kids. All of the questions come from "year 5" textbooks. It's a new trend in game shows, where they seriously dumb things down, so stupid people feel smart. We also have "deal or no deal" which doesn't ask questions at all...it's basically how greedy do you want to be, and "1 vs. 100" that asks mostly pop culture questions. (I've watched the show several times, and I've yet to get a question wrong)

    The end is nigh.

I've heard of 'deal or no deal' over here - No wonder I only watch an hour or so of TV a week!

Do you guys have anything useful to export? If one could assess America (sorry the US) by it's tv exports alone (which is what aliens might) they'd wonder how on earth you were a woorld power!!

That's funny, because I watched "war of the worlds" last night. I can see it now......"Gorlack, the time to invade is NOW! The prey is fatter and stupider than ever and have no will to resist...we must contact their leader...this "Paris Hilton" and demand their surrender."
