What was the initial energy level of an electron if it emitted a photon of wavelength 0.0926um after dropping to an energy level of 1?
    1) 8
    2) 9
    3) 10
    4) 11
    5) 12

i know its 8 but i dont know how can some one help?

From the wavelength you need to calculate the energy of the photon. In the absence of any other information I'm guessing you then need to use the Rydberg formula to get the quantum number of the higher energy level.
