What do you think? If you want to start a discussion you need to do better than a four word question...

It's no more or less ethical than any other artificial method of reproduction, from IVF to IUI to donor sperm.

Not really... Nowadays using cloning as a reproduction method is not approved because of all the secondary effects... besides that it makes no sense.

IVF (or IUI) is more secure, because the embryo that succeeds implantation will develop "normally" (i.e. with the same difficulties a normal zygote would have). A cloned cell won't.

For now... I don't think that the ethical discussion should be about using cloning as a method of reproduction... but using it to get profits on another level, like organ trafficking... etc

It's not approved because it doesn't work well. But that's just a matter of time.
IVF (or IUI) is more secure, because the embryo that succeeds implantation will develop "normally" (i.e. with the same difficulties a normal zygote would have). A cloned cell won't.
The same arguments were made for test tube babies. "Will they survive? Will they have a soul? Will they have a bellybutton? Will they recognize their mother?" And indeed you need to implant multiple IVF embryos to get even a single pregnancy, since IVF isn't very successful per embryo.

Once test tube babies started to be born, though, those fears pretty much went away. The same will happen with cloning.

Cloning will always be a niche application for infertility treatments, because ordinarily easier methods will work. But for a couple with the male being sterile, or having a serious recessive genetic disease, or for a lesbian couple, it will likely find some use.
