Hello im toby, 20 years old and I have a strange talent if you can call it a talent that is. I really want some one to tell me or even ask to meet me to help me understand what it is I can do. It all started about a year ago when I realised I could send surges of energy or adrenalin through my body at my own will. I get into a calm state of mind and then I begin to force it. I can feel my blood pump and almost hear it surge. But I do not tense its just like a light switch that lasts 5 seconds at most. And I stay compleatly relaxed when I do it. It also gives me goose bumps and I can sweat sometimes. But sometimes I can make it go on that long that my fingers twitch. But also if I apply it in different situations, say im angry if I apply it ill become more enraged. Or if I need to focus ill apply it and I can do things in a new light with more confidence. I hope someone can email me back

If this is a willed experience and you don't like it, then just stop doing it.

I had a patient once tell me "every-time I eat eggs, my stomach hurts" to which I replied "then stop eating eggs"

Worst case secnario, your having a delusion about what is happening. Best case scenario a voluntary nervous system response.

Sorry luke, but I doubt your midichlorian count is going to get you far in the way of the force. If you can use this to your advantage go for it, but doubt your going to find any medical solution. You might be able to get a doctor to run an MRI or other medical scan on you but dont think you will get the results you want. People all the time have some "strange" thing about their body & they never get the answer they want.

It sounds as if you have independently discovered what is probably a common meditation technique.

Its strange how It works though. Last night I was able to do it when reading and the hand holdi g the book started to twitch felt funny though nothing bad. I thought I may of found out how to surge my adrenalin. Because I love to do crazy things such as sky dive and bungi jump and my job also involves a lot as well.

Strange. It appears as if most members on this thread think this is an unusual capability. Surely it is the simplest thing in the world to become either angry, or calm, just by thinking about it? Are you all suggesting that, apart from Toby, you cannot do this? Or have I missed something?

Exactly what I was thinking. Unless of course there is something we're missing.

Toby take up acting, you may do well at it. One of the best method actors was Rod Steiger that man could act with his muscles, he didn't need words.
The reason I say this is, because as John said if you are merely exciting your body to react. Which is perfectly normal.
You may be able to utilize it to your benefit.
A logician saves the life of a tiny space alien. The alien is very grateful and, since she's omniscient, offers the following reward: she offers to answer any question the logician might pose. Without too much thought (after all, he's a logician), he asks: "What is the best question to ask and what is the correct answer to that question?" The tiny alien pauses. Finally she replies, "The best question is the one you just asked; and the correct answer is the one I gave."

No that was just examples as to how I can apply it lol. I can usually just create it laying in bed relaxed and when I do it gives me goose bumps and I feel surges of something go round my body and ill get a hot sweat on the go, and this is with no emotion. Sorry if that confused you. But does this change your mind or do you still think the same? Ive tried explaining this to family and friends and no one can do it. It starts from my head and shoots town to my feet with tingles lol. I must sound stupid but thats the only way I can explain it.

I assume there is no outward manifestation -- other than sweating and elevated heartbeat -- to prove this "ability"? Is there something else?

I'd suggest that you stop by your local doctors office and see what they have to say about it. You then could demonstrate your "talent" and let the doctor tell their opinion.
