I am trying to design an enclosure to house electronics for use in an explosive atmosphere. The enclosure is to feature glass panels and this glass must be able to withstand an internal explosion. Is there a calculation to figure out the force/pressure produced by the combustion of a specific gas of a given volume so I can calculate the minimum thickness/type of glass required?

But it does get somewhat more involved than that...
