    Hello,

I am a student of electrical engineering and as a topic for my project I have chosen 'Choice of battery for solar electric cars. "
But I encountered a problem when I realized that the internet does not much related to electric car battery that is
    powered by solar cars.

Generally I try to find anything related to electric batteries, the results are also very weak almost nil (nothing).
Is it me someone could advise how I could come up with some material related to electric batteries, their choice
or anything related to that topic.

Also i want to be curious to know whether ordinary batteries from cell phones, laptops also work on the same principle as
electric batteries, and if so whether it can take some materials from that too?

Any information would help me a lot, thanks in advance.

(sorry for my bad english but i tryed my best)

Hah! Elon Musk has just made all the patents for the Tesla car batteries open source.

No idea if it's helpful, but it's a start.

It's interesting to think about why he has done this. I think it is good old market forces, rather than altruism. What I suspect Tesla Motors has concluded is that they need a bigger sub-population of electric vehicles, using compatible recharging systems, than Tesla can manage on its own, in order to get the recharging network density they need for their cars to be a success. Nevertheless it seems to me to be imaginative and to be applauded.

    Exactly.

    From that linked article ...
Given that annual new vehicle production is approaching 100 million per year and the global fleet is approximately 2 billion cars, it is impossible for Tesla to build electric cars fast enough to address the carbon crisis. By the same token, it means the market is enormous. Our true competition is not the small trickle of non-Tesla electric cars being produced, but rather the enormous flood of gasoline cars pouring out of the world’s factories every day.

We believe that Tesla, other companies making electric cars, and the world would all benefit from a common, rapidly-evolving technology platform.
That bolded portion is the crux of the matter. No single car manufacturer could hope to transform the worldwide car fleet on their own. At least, not in any sensible time frame. And I presume Musk believes that his company is in a good position to compete in this new, enlarged market that he's trying to promote.
