The disappearance of Malaysian Airline flight MH370 left so many bewildering puzzles regardless the outcome of the search and rescue operation. I would like to summarize the most important questions here so we can explore the issues further.

1) The airplane was observed to be on fire from a Vietnamese oil platform, and yet it was able to fly for many hours afterwards. How could this be possible?
2) Why a big fire that could be observed from hundreds of kilometers away lasted only 10-15 seconds?
3) Why the big fire apparently did not leave any noticeable marks on the body of the airplane, as any significant damages would have been noticed by the observers on the Dhaalu Atoll in Maldives?
4) If the pilots made a turn in the direction of the Langkawi Airport, apparently for the purpose of emergency landing, why he did not make any attempt to do so when it got near the airport?
5) Why the pilots did not answer the calls from another airliner's pilot, and why the co-pilot was heard to be mumbling incoherently?
6) Why satellite uplink signals stopped at 8:11 am Malaysian time (5:11 am Maldives time), more than one hour before the airplane passed the Dhaalu Atoll?
7) Why was the airplane was flying at an extremely low altitude when it passed the Dhaalu Atoll?
8) Why the critical observation of a lower flying airliner that resembles the missing MH370 by the residents of the Dhaalu Atoll was dismissed without appropriate investigation by the Maldives authority?
9) Why those in charge of the search operation are also uninterested in the report, and instead, turned their attention to the sea near Western Australia?
10) Why the two curves on the map were called flying corridors while in reality they are not? They are curves generated to determine the location of the plane by intersecting spheres: one being the earth surface plus the altitude of the plane, the other being the distance between the satellite and the plane. Are these “corridors” produced to justify the later searches near Western Australia?
11) Why some unidentifiable satellite images were considered "highly credible" and a major but futile effort was focused in that area, while the Maldives story was completely ignored?
12) Why the discovery of a fire suppression bottle, apparently from the missing Boeing 777's cargo bay, was never investigated by the authorities, and never reported by the media outside Maldives?
13) Why the Maldives authority would not confirm its contact with Boeing regarding this bottle? And why it would not allow the reporters any access to the object?
14) Why the Diego Garcia bass apparently imposed a fly ban for three days starting on March 8, the day MH370 went missing?
15) Why the ocean near Maldives was never searched for the missing plane despite the fact that it is so close to event and the plane was observed there in the day it went missing?
16) Why the Australian vessel Ocean Shield did not update its location on internet as soon as it departed the port of Perth?
17) This vessel was supposed to go the Diego Garcia for loading purpose related to travelling and relocation, and yet why it ended up in the search operation?
18) Why the Diego Garcia bass is apparently off-limit for leave travelers?
19) Why so many Freescale employees were on board the missing plane?
20) Why Freescale refuses to release the names of those on board?
21) Why the captain of the disappeared MH370 received a mysterious phone call minutes before the flight, and yet the origin of the call cannot be traced?
22) Why the captain has practiced landing on the five airports near the final fly path of the MH370 on March 8 in his fly simulator; i.e., airports in India, Sri Lanka, Maldives (Male), and Diego Garcia?
23) Why the FBI concluded that there is nothing sinister about the simulator despite the evidence to the contrary?
24) The questions have been asked by the journalists whether the plane landed in Diego Garcia, and whether the Malaysian military shot down the plane, why there has been no question asked whether the US force in Diego Garcia shot down the plane?

I am not asking someone to answer all these questions; instead, any little thoughts and revelations are most welcome.

Presumably they were mistaken. I haven't heard any more about this since so I assume it has been dismissed as an error.

The pilot, or whoever else was in control, was deliberately avoiding contact.
Or there were massive technical failures.
Or something else.

7) Why was the airplane was flying at an extremely low altitude when it passed the Dhaalu Atoll?
8) Why the critical observation of a lower flying airliner that resembles the missing MH370 by the residents of the Dhaalu Atoll was dismissed without appropriate investigation by the Maldives authority?

Presumably another erroneous sighting.

9) Why those in charge of the search operation are also uninterested in the report, and instead, turned their attention to the sea near Western Australia?

Perhaps because they know how unreliable eye-witnesses are and so are pursuing the objective data (which seems to be paying off).

They are curves generated to determine the location of the plane by intersecting spheres: one being the earth surface plus the altitude of the plane, the other being the distance between the satellite and the plane.

I suspect that is limited understanding by journalists. The better reports have made the meaning quite clear.

Only in as much as that area is within those limits. How could they know at that time where they were going to end up searching.

Perhaps because they know how unreliable eye-witnesses are compared to objective evidence.

Maybe they were busy. You know, searching.

19) Why so many Freescale employees were on board the missing plane?

Having worked for companies similar to (and larger than) Freescale, it is not unusual for a large number of staff to be on the same flight. (And a number of staff of companies I have worked for have been lost in plane crashes.) The bigger companies have rules that no more than 2 (or so) staff can be on the same plane.

Not at all. It's barely 5 weeks since it went missing. We're still getting apparent pings from its black box.

(Although some wreckage was retrieved within a week of Air France Flight 447 being lost over the Atlantic, it took two years to find out from the black boxes what had happened to the flight.)

Waiting a mere few further days for the searchers to pinpoint the location will put most, if not all, of those "eye-witness" speculations into the trash where they belong. They can't all be relevant, let alone accurate information about what happened.

Indulging these speculations is merely fuelling conspiracy thinking in far too many people who don't even know how pilots fly such a plane, let alone how pilots deal with any problems that arise while they're doing it.

I strongly suggest you look at the thread Strange gave you the link for and read all the comments from Billvon as well as One beer who happens to be a commercial airline pilot. They know a lot about flying and they're far and away the most useful comments for someone who knows little about such matters to start with.

The fire could have killed everyone on board, at which time the aircraft would continue flying along its last heading (if the autopilot was off) or along its last programmed route (if the autopilot was on and functioning.)

It may have been a tire fire, and that person may have seen them cycling the gear in an attempt to put it out. Or the external fire may have only lasted 10-15 seconds. Or he may have seen the burning plume of debris as the aircraft depressurized through the hole (a la the 2011 Egyptair fire in a 777.)
