    Can someone help me solve this problem?

    complete and balance each one of the following equations. Be sure the chemical formula is correct for each of the products. Then write the net ionic equation

    1)----> AL (NO3)3(aq) + K2S (ag)

    2)----> H2SO4(ag) + AL(OH)3 (s)

    a) this is homework, we won't do it for you but we will try and help, what exactly are you having difficulty with?
    b) as you have not provided the "reactants" part of the equation you cannot balance it as it stands.

    chemist may know what products result from these 2 reactions. maybe part of the home work is to find out what the products are then balance.

    Something like this?
    in which

    The second exercise is solved via the same method.
    "The only safe rule is to dispute only with those of your acquaintance of whom you know that they possess sufficient intelligence and self-respect not to advance absurdities; to appeal to reason and not to authority, and to listen to reason and yield to it; and, finally, to be willing to accept reason even from an opponent, and to be just enough to bear being proved to be in the wrong."

    I am a chemist, it is not immediately obvious and while I'm willing to help out I'm not doing his homoework for him...

    EDIT: I see now that he has written reactants (and working out the products is trivial as CES has shown) rather than the products (which are implied by his arrows). CES has given the hint, it's now just algebra.

    i understand and i agree with you. home work is for student to learn by doing it himself. doing it for him defeats this. of course most students are not so caring and just want it done.
