Being a newcomer to the world of geology can be very hectic so coming across this forum actually opened my eyes to a few things, but I have a few questions,I am a post graduate diploma student studying applied geology,i hold a bachelors degree in civil engineering and planning going for my masters shortly but lately I have been wandering about my options in the industry and if my educational background(Bsc) can be a plus or actually reduce my chances,I need to know of my options career wise, although I am seriously in love with the E&P sector.your comments/answers will be highly appreciated

Actually almost any mining would be good. Geology and civil engineering together is a very good fit for hardrock.

For now I am in west africa nigeria to be precise, mining is not much of an issue here, rather exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbon deposites is done here hence my attraction to E&P.
