If you had a 2-dimensional world inhabited by 2-dimensional creatures, what would happen if one of them moved into a 3rd dimension at right angles to the other two? Say if the creatures lived on the floor and one of them moved up onto the wall?

Would the rest of the 2-D creatures think the first had shrunk into a line, or would the first creature disappear from the perspective of the rest of them? Or something else?

"He" would only appear as line if "he" intersected the plane the others inhabited - otherwise "he'd" disappear.
