Not really. It’s just that making “get a room” jokes is fun.

You said "this forum goes back to 2013"....

It goes back to before 2009 (which is when I joined)

That is why I asked "only as far as 2013?"

Not quite sure when it first began but MarnixR joined in 2007...

Watched 4 live games of football over the festive season and they all ended in draws.
Football, golf, cricket are in my DNA. Such a waste, but I can't do anything about it.

Weather is cool and dry so I'm off to play golf today against all my instincts that it's a game nobody ever masters.

YES, I have seen more of your work, you are very talented. Sorry I haven't been around for a few days, have many patients to take care of, some of them in dire situations, and I am so blessed to have the skill and knowledge to help these people.

I think I heard a baby gater today. It kept squeaking for awhile. But when I snuck up, all I saw was something disappearing into water. I googled up a baby gator sound file, and I reckon that’s about the sound I heard. Oh yeah, I’m in Florida. Not my usual haunts, but interesting for a change.

Big gators, big spiders and whatever they dine on can’t be housefly size. Hear the snakes are unusually large too. You getting the feeling you’re not top predator around there? You can always go for a swim to remove any doubts

Despite the season, it is warm enough for swimming most days. And the pond has nice looking water, but also lots’a snapping turtles I’m told. I have seen one snake, about 4’ or so, rat snake. Haven’t spotted any venomous yet, but I hear there’s plenty of cottonmouths and water moccasins about. I think the spider was a Brown Recluse, so not like tarantula size or nothing. Yeah, I maintain a high level of awareness discipline down here. Always look where I’m stepping, never reach under stuff blind. And almost every plant and weed down here has thorns.
From the Grizzley bearing, great north woods of Alaska, to the dank, venomous southern swamps. I still consider the most dangerous animal in any wilderness to be the two-leggeds.

Invasive Burmese pythons are taking over the Everglades so if you're looking to supplement your trip with a little cash then consider this:
The South Florida Water Management District pays eligible hunters$8.10 an hour to look for pythons on its vast landholdings, which encompass much of the Everglades, although not Everglades National Park. Hunters get a $50 bonus for every python measuring at least 4 feet, with $25 for each foot beyond. .....receive an additional $200 for each eliminated python nest with eggs.
You can also sell the skin privately.

I could probably do okay at that, python hunting. And I understand the necessity of eliminating large invasive predators, but pythons are my puppies and kitties. I think they are just so cuddly-wuddley!

Also known as the Huntsman spider. I read they have those here in Florida. I haven’t seen one yet. Non-venomous, just big and creepy. I wouldn’t pick one up and play with it.

I bet it’s on the back. Somewhere near the power cord.
You have a truck that’s just for hauling patch cords, don’t you?

I've done that before. As long as there isn't a strong wind, and it's close enough to a house it isn't too bad.

What I do is roll it up to the sliding glass doors so I don't step outside. We've escaped the snow (so far) but I would still do it. Hey a couple steaks a a few minutes on each side, why not.

My grill is like five feet away from my door on my deck. So I still step outside but it's just for a moment. And it's totally worth it for the flavor. Now I want to grill some meat lol.

    So sorry to hear this.

The clinic where I have my office shares a floor with a good friend of mine who happens be in my opinion the foremost authority on glaucoma.

Do you mind if I ask how much screen time you put in a day? That would be like smoking (self inflicted), if you can cut back or quit doing it, this would help, as what she tells me is, DON'T exacerbate the problem.

That makes sense Gurl, I have to be at a monitor for work and I swear my eye sight has gone down hill. Well I know it has I'm on my third prescription in about 10 years.

Yes, it happens a lot, such are the consequences of staring at a monitor for long periods of time, it happens to the best of us, but if I had serious glaucoma I would be engaging in preventative measures, eyesight is far too precious to play around with.

I find golf extremely boring and action less, it's just an excuse to leave your life and get amongst nature, which is fine. A doctor friend of mine enjoys it, he has even set up a golf simulator at his rather spacious home, it cost him 30,000 dollars, he enjoys the experience.

Hey Gurl I should book an appointment with your friend and see if I can get some swings in on that simulator.

Yes, you can, but be warned he takes it all very seriously, even dressing like a Harlem pimp in his own home. He is rich but not idle, I can see him becoming obsessed when he retires though.

I love golf. The sport, how difficult it is. The challenge, and the physicality needed. It is certainly not a game for wimps! If it isn't busy golf is 18 holes in 2 1/2 hours other than that it is four hours. It is a fabulous sport.

And I'm trying to digest the concepts of quantum gates, vectors , and matrix maths ... Is H - gate a real quantum beast ?
Anyone interested in IBM's first commercial quantum computer ?

After updating my Warcraft 3 custom maps I will probably move back to my coding studies or creative writing.

When ESPN ranked 60 sports for athleticism recently, golf finished in 51st place – below table tennis and only narrowly beating archery.
Well this is a fact and I believe it too.

Gurl HAHAHAHAHA! It's 10 seconds of intense action 15 minutes waiting for the beer girl stopping for a hot dog after 9, and a few more beers after 18 with some wings and complaining about getting stuck behind that 65 year old lady.

Yes, I wouldn't know, and I have no intention of starting, I can think of a hundred better things to do with my time. Btw my doctor friend is a rather pompous elite type, he would be fuming that I am bashing his favorite pastime.
We need to meet up for that lunch date soon, I will be in your area soon as I have a conference to attend.

Playing golf tomorrow. And my coaches arrive in a few weeks...cannot wait! Having gf's who are LPGA players and icons just rock. We hit it off the minute we met and it has been a good 7 years. They always want to go golfing with me and also some range work. I need to review one of the chipping lessons....I am not doing something right.

Hey, my better half’s birthday today. Her & I heading out to dinner at our favourite Stop & Puke. Bought her(us) a Google Home .....”Hey Google, whatever happens don’t play any recent hits.” Wonder if it can handle that?

Just realized something, Google is ‘Go Ogle’.

Zinjanthropos happy birthday to........ your obviously better half. Enjoy dinner.

Stayed a little late at work today playing with our new studio offering. A Rickenbacker 4003 with the dual output. Very cool even to look at.

I have 20/20 vision and had one of the best glaucoma specialists and researchers in the world. He continued in his career, his groundbreaking research in the causes and treatments of glaucoma.

NEVER has looking a computer screen been brought up. It has nothing to do with glaucoma or eye disease.

This weekend we have a band in our studio, they are A drummer who is all of 12, a guitarist the elder all of 14, bass (using the new 4003 if he can lift it) 12, keyboards 13. These kids are amazing with amazing parents allowing them the freedom to grow. 8 hours isn't cheap.

Next weekend I hope to be in Hawaii with a friend, we always have our favorite dishes of kalua pig, chicken long rice, squid luau, not to mention topping it off with a shave ice. I try and get there a few times a year.
I am looking at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, it looks perfect for some rest and relaxation.

Really enjoying the series "Wonders of the solar system hosted by Prof. Brian Cox, A very interesting dude in his own right. From his days as the key board player for a progressive rock band to world famous physicist. *LOL* He was actually in two bands Dare and D:ream. What I like about him is the way he can explain things so that even a dumb ass like myself can understand.

Check it out Wonders of the Universe and Wonders of the Solar system.

Sitting in local Bijou waiting for The WWI documentary ' They Shall Not Grow Old' to start. Peter Jackson re- editing of WWI film complete with new state of the art colorizing techniques. Lip readers also play a role putting words to soldiers silent voices. For some reason I can't post the trailer but once you see it, you will be amazed. Made for BBC. Did well at box office in limited one night shows at selected theatres so they're releasing it in over 500 theatres this week.

Was that the #13 Babe? I’ve had an eye injection before. The only thing I can imagine that would be worse is going blind. Even surgery is better than an eye injection, at least they knock a person out for surgery.
I was some of the mud that got to sit up and look around.

I’ve never had to endure chemo, and it’s certainly not on my bucket list. I’ve heard that a person should never sail with captain chemo without Mary Jane on the boat. I dont know about the island, but the whole mainland West Coast is legal now. Don’t even need a scrip’, just go to a store. You’ll want ID, to prove your legal age.

I would get concentrates and make my own “treats”. I have yet to find any commercial edible that was any good. I’ve even eaten the whole package in one go and been disappointed. There are also vaping setups to consider. A little spendy, but discreet, easy.

Mainland at the dispensaries they are usually good. I wouldn't buy them at a pharmacy, however. That is just hemp seed. It just isn't the same.

Good Christ, black carbon is one of the messiest things you can clean up. My daughter’s gas logs fireplace needed cleaning so I said , “No problem, I’ll do it”. With those last words I did .

Since I’m only visiting, I didn’t have the right tools but I still managed to do a neat job. Also cleaned burner and pilot. Wish I had a shop vac but didn’t so I removed most of the carbon using a thin piece of cardboard and then transferred it to a nearby garbage bag. Still that crap manages to find someplace I never covered up. In the end it all worked out. Nice pilot, power pile providing plenty of millivolts to get through switch with enough left to open main gas valve. Also cleaned switch and valve contacts.. Prior to all this the GV wouldnt open when switch was made, the problem that got me into fix it mode.

babe...I’m in Vancouver for my only grandkid’s b-day. She turned 1 on 23rd. Can’t believe how smart she is and how much she’s developed in a year. My wife has been here since Feb 6 to help my daughter transition back into the workforce when maternity leave expired by watching little Molly. My daughter and her husband both travel at times for a living so my wife more than willing to hold the fort this month, at least until full time daycare takes effect in early March. As for me I go home Thursday. Meanwhile I fix some stuff and we visit friends. No need to sightsee anymore here.
