I was wondering if there is any way to feed input into brain without using any sense. I mean , no use of eye, ear, tongue, skin or 6th sense ,whatever. I am not talking about revelation (religious concept).

In religion and theology, revelation is the revealing or disclosing of some form of truthor knowledge through communication with a deity or other supernatural entity or entities.

In the real world, the only way our brain can receive input is through the proper channels. Our body's receptors send signals to the brain. You could circumvent these receptors if you could tap directly into the appropriate sections of the brain, but it would be meaningless unless you used the kind of input the brain is designed to handle. For instance, blasting music at the occipital lobe would not cause you to "see" music.

What you're suggesting seems to be similar to telepathy, a capability we do not have.

Yes there is and actually your life is dependent on it. It however depends on your definition of sense.

While there are only 5 external senses, there are many other "senses" or rather inputs from inside of the body. There are receptors for lots of other internal factors, ranging from the concentration of oxygen in the blood to pH of blood (stretch of the arteries, pH of chyme in the stomach there are many examples). These are used to maintain homeostasis (the constant inner environment) via reflex loops. These loops may be local (they deal with the stimuli at the place of its origin) or ranged (and these usually travel through brain or at least spinal chord, or pituitary gland). These reflex loops can be very complicated and contain both neural and hormonal activity.

Lots of these internal inputs are taken to brain (usually the lower parts of it (e.g. hypothalamus)) and processed there. They might be compared with a "fix point" (the default value) for example, and then there might be a proper response to eliminate (or in some very limited cases strengthen) the input.

Why do we teach there are only five senses? It's obviously wrong and doesn't compare to common experience or our knowledge of biology/anatomy.

I'd say it's a combination of perception and ignorance. Because what you really can sense is just an input of those exclaimed senses (well.. with some limitations like pain taken as a sense of touch). You can't really feel the other inputs. So I guess it's easier to teach it like this. And it would take too much effort to change it

And since I saw my brother's school notes on photosynthesis, I no longer wonder why something in education is like it is.

What I'm getting at is even at the tip of our finger, we can obviously tell pressure, pain and temperature...and perhaps not so obviously a sense of where our finger is in relationship to our hand.

No. Because that is what "sense" means: a way in which you (i.e. your brain) gets input. There are a dozen or more known senses.
