Maybe visual art, for colour. Other than that art as a general subject is not the science of light.

Optics is the science of light.

The visual arts could be considered an application of that science (and associated technology). A lot of artists throughout history have been interested in pushing the boundaries by using new technology. Whether it was new pigments, perspective, the camera, digital processing ...

Light curves and inverse proportions are visual and 3-d canvas is only 2-d and I suspect the difficulty in portraying a likeness is due to the science of light.

Not really. While is uses some rather well established science and math in application--it uses completely different methods.

Art however is in small part being explored by psychologist, biologist etc--why do we like some art and dislike others? Why do certain ratios appeal to our eyes more than others. What role do optical illusions play? (and many more questions).

    To OP... no.

Blind people can experience art too,... by touch.

Is art the science of touch?

Art is a concept of the mind. Esthetics an evolutionary tool, still debated.
