Big Bang. Galaxies. Black holes. Dark Matter/Energy. Higgs Boson. Gravity. Matter. Quantum Mechanics. Space. Time. Life. Existence. Etc. Etc. Etc....

What’s your greatest Wonder of the Universe, and why?

For me, it would probably have to be self-awareness! Without it, existence itself, could not be experienced and probably all the more pointless!

The ability, willingness, and desire to override instinctual response to stimuli in a species does it for me.

    Bamboo. Or mathematics.

    Or broccoli. I'm not sure.

I'd think that the univesrse itself is probably the greatest thing I've ever learned about because without its formation I wouldn't be here to see it or learn about it at all.

Broccoli’s up there alright. However, along with Brussels sprouts, I don’t think Homo Sapiens would be missed had they not evolved!

The Greatest Wonder of the Universe for me is that we do not have an understanding of the exact mechanisms by which life evolved on this planet, let alone how the entire universe began or even if it had a beginning as we tend to measure such things.

Where did the space come from that the universe currently occupies, or does it create it's own 'real estate' as it 'expands'?

Yes, yes, I know we have a number of current theories but none of them really satisfies the question or perhaps that is just my limited experience/perspective.

It's all good, even without knowing all the answers.

    Still my greatest wonder.....DNA
All that belongs to human understanding, in this deep ignorance and obscurity, is to be skeptical, or at least cautious; and not to admit of any hypothesis, whatsoever; much less, of any which is supported by no appearance of probability...Hume

    That it exists at all!
In other words "why is there something rather than nothing".
