I find it quite amazing that some posting are submitted in what can only be described as appalling English with a smattering of text speak now entering, how on earth can we be expected to clearly understand what is intended, it is not good enough to be expected to guess at the meaning.
The odd grammatical error is acceptable, but we all have a spell check on our PC so no excuse there, after all its not face to face so there is plenty of time to get it right, perhaps its just plain laziness ??
The language in use is English, surly an attempt to use it would not be too much to ask. I do anticipate some flack.

It's simple: Peoples ability to convey what they mean equals their overall thinking ability. Since if they can convey it better using a wide array of vocabulary, they can understand better using said mental vocabulary.

This is excluded for people that have english as a second language. Those who natively speak english have absolutely no excuese, and are subject to the above rule.

Welcome to phase TWO of poor grammar: it molds your thoughts into exactly how you use your grammar, so your thinking ability becomes impaired as well.

Ain't that the truth! Mastery of language is mastery of oneself. I'm trilingual, so I have a multiple personality disorder. I like my German personality better than my English. More efficient.

In my work my colleages and I are required to write reports from time to time. On the days I am requested to assist in 'proof-reading' reports, I take whisky with me.

I am absolutely astounded at the lack of grammar and thought organization. These are college graduates who simply cannot relate the gist of a conversation, let alone a verbatim account.

I live the People's Democratic Socialist Republic of California. English teachers here are afraid of offending those who don't speak English (Spanish or Eubonics) and/or sluffed through those classes themselves. Consequently, they teach 'literature' instead. (Pardon me while I pour myself a whisky.)

I like literature, please do not misunderstand; however neither Hemmingway nor Faulkner should be a model for non-fiction report writing.

End of rant. Thank you all.
