I know that Gravity is a natural phenomena which can also be called as the force of attraction between two bodies in the universe. But as magnetism has its origin in revolving electrons in an atom of magnet, does gravity also has its origin from atoms ? And how its effective in such a big area ?

Gravity is a geometric property of space-time itself; this is modelled by a theory called General Relativity. The basic idea is that space-time around massive bodies is no longer flat, but possesses intrinsic curvature; it is this curvature which manifests itself as gravity.

Which always seemed an odd description to me.
Leads to the sci.fi. "folding spacetime in on itself, or warping spacetime" ?

Does increased or decreased gravity alter the excitation of the atomic structure?
