Thread: Particle physics beyond the standard model

Now that, with the discovery of a Higgs boson, we have completed the standard model. The next step is to figure out what dark matter is and look for WIMP particles that it could be. My question is- could dark matter particles be created and discovered with current particle accelerators such as the LHC or must new, higher energy particle accelerators be built to look for possible candidates for dark matter?
