Why the double exclamation points?? Do you need this for a homework paper that's due soon?

    Great results?
We can attach laser beams to frickin' sharks' heads now.
You can't get greater than that!

I remember a TV program about lasers when they were still pretty new (maybe "Tomorrow's World"?) where the closing comments summarised them as an invention looking for an application. Now they are everywhere. Modern technology would be almost impossible without them.

What shall it be good for ? and we are just beginning to apply them. Discovery is never finished.

I recall the fellow that developed the refrigerator was attempting to improve his furnace bellows..

It does not always follow that we know what we have.. or what we might use it for..

The electromagnetic spectrum was thought to be of interest but of no practical use.

I came across a demo of 'Googles' Glass... how that works is interesting. I need one, but can not work out why...

you must be about my generation. one of the shows that got me interested in science.
Sometimes it is better not knowing than having an answer that may be wrong.
