I too saw something flaring bright among the stars on Saturday night. As the other person saw from Eastern America, I saw it from my house on the coast of West Wales. I was watching the stars from my garden, looking west or maybe WSW and saw one of them brighten, enlarge as if exploding, then disappear. Very puzzling. It seemed stationery, not travelling, as an aircraft would. Any explanations??

Weird that this was JUST addressed in another thread. It's no longer on my New Posts list, but I'm sure you can find it. The phenomenon was explained.

An aircraft directly approaching you would appear to be a stationary light in the sky. It's quite common.

Doubt very much it was an aircraft. It was a star among stars, which suddenly became brighter, then enlarged about three times it's size and MUCH brighter, and then disappeared. I was hoping that someone with a knowledge of astronomy might have also spotted it and can explain this occurrence.

Sounds very much like an aircraft.

I don't think he meant an exploding aircraft. Possibly just the way the sunlight glints off the body of an aircraft. I have seen it many times myself, back when I was a kid thinking my parents were finally coming back to claim me. But it seems I was left here to die.

The craft your people use utilizes a specific stealth technology that hasn't yet been developed on Earth. Had they wanted to come for you- you would not have seen them coming.

    Their craft also explode differently.

Well yeah, because my people's aircraft usually just implode or vaporize. Unless of course there is a mass conspiracy to explode a ship and then claim the martians did it. Then its all like kablewy and stuff.

I think the sudden brightening and then disappearance indicate a iridium flare... sometimes from some distance motion is lost..

This site supposedly gives more info about satellite flares and when to expect them.
