I've been very interested in using GIMP lately. Yesterday, I made these. I was wondering what you all thought of them. Which one is your favorite? Why?

Looks like a DooM texture to me.

Nice textures. I take it they are tile-able?

Not sure I care for any of those. What is your intended use for them? It's been a very long time since I used GIMP. It was still being developed and at that time I had a good copy of Photoshop, so I never got to interested. What do you think of it now and does it compare well with Photoshop?

I have never used photoshop. I just downloaded GIMP because it was free. I was planning on using these designs for a desktop background.

Not sure. The clouds may not be. I can make one any size you want. They are very easy.

Here is my last one (I promise):

I never use backgrounds in the tile format. I usually find a picture with an aspect ratio that's not to much different from my screen size and the expand it to fill the whole screen. I tend to like dark backgrounds that are not to busy where my desktop icons are located on my screen. But lately I'm trying out the BING background pictures. You get a new picture everyday at midnight. I have many thousands of pictures of all kinds and can select any picture as a background, but sometimes you just get tired of looking for new backgrounds because of the shear number of pictures you have to browse. When you manage the mega thousands of pictures I have nothing works better than ThumbsPlus 8.0.
