if you know how it works then you must understand it. you have to learn. And i dont mean p=np. actually can somebody put this back to the way this was im sorry i shouldnt have deleted it. ill put it back up.

The same speed as any other object leaving the atmosphere, see Escape Velocity.

11.2 km/s as the duck flies. They go faster than that anyway.

Do you know what Beta radiation is ?
I would not want to be inside this spacecraft...

Charged particle beams aren't very effective, nor long range, because they loose conherence quickly...electrons would obviously repel each other.

Beta radiation consists of an electron and an anti-neutrino; or a positron and a neutrino. It is due to the changing of protons into neutrons and neutrons into protons. This type of radiation is not safe, so ya I won't want to be in such a spaceship either.

The best I could do is the current ion thrusters, (and plasma thrusters):

Ion thruster - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Particle thrusters are the closest thing that actually works that I can think of.

Perhaps you can also build your own ion gun and experiment with that at home:

You would have to electrically charge your spaceship on the outside, so that it is repelled by the electrons from "underneath", generating an upwards force.
Given enough electrons with enough energy acting on the ship, this could conceivably work, however, it would take a huge amount of energy to generate such a beam; also there would be other issues, e.g. the beam might ionize the air it passes through, with fairly spectacular results...

In my mind this isn't very feasible as a practical solution to launch a spacecraft.

From a purely scientific point of view I don't think it is very feasible. Since these are electromagnetic forces we are talking about you might as well just build a giant magnet, and propel your spacecraft up a ramp or a system of rails, much like a maglev train. Far easier to construct than an electron beam generator.

That's just silly. Calculate how strong the magnetic field would need to be.

Moderator Note: I've gone ahead and merged many of your posts. Where there is an obvious break in thinking or a large gap in time I have allowed successive posts to remain.

Fiveworlds, you might also like to note that at the moment you appear to be talking to yourself. Other members seem to have dismissed your proposals as pointless, wrong, or simply uninteresting. Just a thought.
