    I know what AC bias is but I am trying to figure out why it works, I looked at the wiki article here: but a lot of the linked pages in the description are written in the mathematics version of legalese. I think I understand the principle, forcing the recording device to use a broader spectrum instead of only the audible range to reduce noise & distortion. I used to have a FM jamming kit that I made in high school electronics class that basically broadcasted nothing locally with more power than the radio station could at any given frequency. I added a 3.5mm headphone jack to make it a variable frequency FM transmitter for my MP3 player. But that's about the extent of my component level knowledge. If someone could explain it in a simplified manner I'd appreciate it, thank you.
