I have done a mass spectrumetry on a molecule with mass 284. It contains two -OH joining to a benzene, a di-phenol.
And 284 should be the greatest m/e shown in the result.
However, I found 2 more peaks. One is 299 and one is 314.
I guess they were formed by joining one and two methyl-fragments onto the phenol. Am I correct?
