Has anyone at ScienceForum read Johann Goethe’s 1809 Elective Affinities and if so what is your opinion on it? (particularly if your background is in physical chemistry). Goethe is universally considered the smartest person to have ever existed (Google “Genius IQs, Hmolpedia” to see a ranking of the top 400 world’s geniuses by IQ), but because of the so-called “two cultures” divide (as addressed by C.P. Snow), very few people in the science community seem to know about the density of this work. Myself, it took me 11 years to find this book (eventually via a footnote in Ilya Prigogine’s 1984 Order Out of Chaos).
