I'm starting to wonder how realistic my dream of being a reasearch scientist is.
I have dyspraxia and im finding uni quite difficult. Just wondering if anyone out there with a learning disability has found success in science

I don't wat to sound cheesy but really disabilities don't matter. It just makes it harder to get there, but once you get there your disabilities don't matter. Both newton and dirac had a form of autism, and Im sure there are many more with learning diabilities.

It's not the end result I'm worried about, it's getting there that is difficult. Dysabilitys are dehibilitating to a learning environment. The percentage of people with learning dissabilities who earn a degree is next to zero and the number of those who go on to get masters or anything substantial is virtually non existent.

Just to add a brief comment / thought on your "survey" methodology. This thread will not draw out a meaningful view of the population of members here with learning disabilities. It will only illuminate which members who post to this site are willing to share that openly, and within that population only those who happen to see this thread.

Now, is it also possible you're using a specific type of learning disorder? After all, taken broadly enough, bad parents could fall into that category too, if you take my point.
