Whatever else they were, September 11th, 2001 most dramatic events were meticulously planned media event designed to scare the crap out of people.

Every year dreary repetition, "We must never forget...blah, blah, blah", Prince could vomit. Nobody acts like this on Columbine massacre or OKC bombing anniversary, why is this?

The first sentence is little more than conspiracy garbage. We remember it because it's closer in time, a lot larger in every way than the two other events you mentioned, and started a war.

There are a lot of discrepencies in the official documentation. A LOT.

You haven't worked in the real world yet, have you? In all official documentation, government, academic and commercial, there are always discrepancies. That is the nature of the beast. When you find some documenation without discrepancies, that is when you have to sit up and suspect conspiracy.

on the other hand, is it really everybody's patriotic duty to be reminded of it even if they don't feel like it ?

I did find "everything changed" a sentiment worthy of investigation. I suspect a large portion of society was craving this "everything changed" and just pulled it from the opportune moment.

What is the personal or societal function of "everything changed"? It seems to be a sort of free license.
