    Hi everyone
I post here because actually I don't know if this is science or fiction.
However I didn't think that an earthquake may be predicted some years before.
But some days ago I knew something about Raffaele Bendandi.
What do you think about his mysterious theory?

He never published a theory and never explained his ideas. Because he never published any work, there is no way to verify or falsify it, and no reason to believe his accurate predictions were anything more than flukes - especially considering the large number of earthquakes occurring worldwide every year.

In short - too little is known of him/his work to take his ideas seriously.

"The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair." ~ Douglas Adams

This is the big problem. Because the authorities treated him like a charlatan, he never had the opportunity to explain his work, and the documents were partially destroyed (perhaps by himself). I hope the same will not happen today.

This is only a big problem if you suspect there is a strong likelihood he had a viable hypothesis. From what we know of his ideas and what we know of vulcanism and tectonics, the possibility that he may have been on to something is as close to zero as makes no difference.
