Easy if both players keep moving their knights back and forth over and over and over

    (Gogolplex years later)

and over and over and over.

My chess nerd story: By the time I was in my senior year at HS I'd only played a few games of chess in my life. Our school was fortunate to have the regional champion amongst the student body. He was always looking for a game since he destroyed everybody. I avoided him like the plague but he would bug me incessantly for a match. With about a month or so left in my HS career I finally relented to play him. Don't know how but I won.

If I thought I was being hounded for a game before, it was worse after my victory. Maybe because after I'd won I told him I would never play him again because he was not a worthy opponent. This guy, this chess nerd, spent the rest of the school year rummaging through a library of chess books to find out where he went wrong. He could memorize a phone book so he easily replayed our game entirely in his head. He eventually found his mistake and tried to explain it to me but it was a tactic to get me to play him again.

I refused his challenges one after another. He became very frustrated and maybe because I was feeling sorry for the guy I agreed to play him again. This was big news at our HS and word traveled fast, so fast that we eventually played in the teacher's lounge with every move announced over the PA system. I expected to get dusted pretty quick. Without a word of a lie, and despite astronomical odds against history repeating itself, I won again. I hope Bob (not real name) isn't reading this as he has probably tried to wipe it from his memory. As for myself I have played only one game since then and it was in the Windows chess game that came with a new computer purchase. Bring on the chess nerds

The nerds have spoken, perhaps we should have a live chess play here in the forum. Nothing too fancy just competent software, who wouldn't wanna have a chess cafe within an intellectual forum.
