I smoked cigarettes for years growing up, quit repeatedly, always started again. Finally dropped it for good shortly after university.

I have several cigars in my humidor, and have enjoyed many in my day. I smoke much less frequently now that I've been working out more again, but I'll bring one with me to work parties or special occasions. I'm a double maduro kind of guy, myself. Reminds me of all of the great coffee and espresso I had in Asia while there on business. Also reminds me a little of a really supremely excellent uber-dark chocolate... high cocoa content... like above 85%... maybe with some salt or cayenne.

Also... I've seen plenty of non-classy FAR from cultured people huffing down some cigars. I'd have to challenge the truth value of the above equation.

I only smoke when I'm on fire. Which is more often than can be healthy.

You do realise that a lot of 'its bad for you' is propoganda? My great-auntie smoked her whole life packs a day, still kicking. I believe lung cancer and effects are genetic.

Fortunately for the rest of us, belief almost never trumps evidence when one is grounded in reality. You can believe in levitation, but you're still gonna fall and die if you step off of the top of a tall building.

Interestingly, smoking makes you something like 4x more likely to get ANY form of cancer... Not just lung cancer.

Sure, genetics play a role, but so too does behavior and environment.

I packed in smoking many years ago. It is only when you stop, that you realise how badly your clothes, your breath, your car, and your house smells of tobacco. It is a filthy, disgusting habit, but what the hell, live and let live.

Many of us know people like that. But the statistics are clear that despite the occasional anecdotal evidence to the contrary, for most people, smoking is bad. A few beat the odds stacked against them.

I just realized that Quantime will probably come back and tell us that he knew a guy who fell from a building and lived. Gosh... It must be a-okay, then.

Is some of what we here in the spirit of propaganda? Yeah, sure. However, that does nothing to negate how plain and direct the link between that action and our health truly is.

I do, his name is Thomas Anderson, he starred in the Matrix film and during a blooper he failed to make a stunt jump, landed on his face and lived.

Cigars are for winners and victory laps. Much cooler and more aromatic than cigs.

There is everything cool about cigars. Smoking is cool. Yes it kills, injures and a lot of people don't like but so what; it's cool. Bite us. 8)

I probably come across as an anti smoking fascist, but even as an ex smoker, I am not. Smokers help to keep our tax burden down, keep it up.

Well I'm glad to help . As long as you can smoke I like it, when I didn't smoke I said no smoking in my home and what not and respect peoples wishes about second hand smoke so I am very considerate when around other people.
