There is no such thing as a good laptop computer, any more than there is a good car, a good house, or a good pair of trousers. A thing can only be good for a certain purpose or set of purposes, and usually also for a certain person.

In other words, it all depends what kind of user you are and what you want to do with your laptop.

Unless you are rich and spend-happy enough to buy a laptop that has everything and then some, just in case you might find a use for it: petabytes in RAM and HDD, a BlueRay recorder, latest and most powerful graphics card, quadrophonic speakers, 16 dual-core 100GHz PCUs. But even then, some millionaires will prefer a large screen for more comfortable viewing, while others will prefer a smaller one that's easier to carry.

As for HDD size, again, it depends if you just want to write some texts, or store and process hundreds of photos and audio tracks, or hundreds of full-length HD movies.

The problem with a 30GB disk is that it's probably an old one, and then so is the computer it comes with - likely to fail or become obsolete soon.

Ya 30 gb is quite small, you can get notebooks new these days with 300gb for around 500 dollars.

i was thinking of storing a few movies and probably quite a few games, i also want to be able to carry it around for a fair bit without plugging it in. I have an external hardrive as well so im not worried about storing everything on it.
    just wondering
