    Hi,

I am studying Journalism at University, and in my class we each get assigned a random, broad topic for each of our assignments to be based on...

I got Science. I am very interested in science, however am not very knowledgable...

What I am looking for is something Science related that is interesting and not alienating to the general reader that I could write a feature on...

I have been looking for topics and there just seems to be so many that could be really interesting, but none in particular have jumped out at me yet.

So basically what I'm asking is, what things happening in Science right now do you find interesting, that would fit into this vague criteria of being interesting and accessible?

Like I said I have a hell of topics to choose from so it's not a big deal, I'm just hoping that maybe something mentioned here that I have not yet encountered might catch my eye.

Thanks for your help, if you indeed do

Hmmm... science is a damn big field. ┬┐Any particular area of interest?

Of course it must be something interesting to the average reader, so may I suggest something about genetics (stem cells, cloning) or space exploration (mars, venus, extrasolar planets)...

hahaha not really that's the thing. It all seems kind of interesting to me...

my last one was on DNA Barcoding so I will steer away from that stuff.... space exploration is a good idea, thanks... I'll go see what I can find there.

The premier popular science journal on the planet is arguably New Scientist. I would suggest reading a few back issues of that: you will gain not only some ideas, but will see many examples of how good science articles for the general reader are written.

global warming, ect. forget what we are doing to the earth, but what some people are doing themselfs, ordinary people or scientists, to take matters into their own hands,

not only would it highlight the problem, *perhaps a brief intro about the actual problem* and also that there is things we could be doing, and not wait for our various governments. but again , forget the government, every article i read on these are either full of facts bout the problem , or about the government.

the pharmacy industry, perhaps a look at the drug making process, which takes up to 20 years. highligtht the improtance of industry in medicen.
    Stumble on through life.
