Never played World of Warcraft, and never plan to play World of Warcraft. I have NWN for my mmorpg, and NWN is essentially the best computer adaptation of DnD to date

Nope not a WoW fan. I heard it consumes your soul and spare time.

More into Diablo series. I probably would like WoW if it had a single player mode and i didn't have to pay subscription fee.

Pssh, frost is the best leveling spec for mages.

I haven't played it in months, it is addictive in short spurts then I usually take 2-3 months breaks before going back to it for a month or two. Of course that means I'm like the slowest leveler in WOW history, I think my priest has been lvl 70 for like a year.

Edit: On a related note, Diablo III and Starcraft 2 both look totally awesome.

For the record, I think I play like that too. Even when I play, I fool around, getting achievements, fishing or something like that =))

Wow gets old pretty fast, now if they took a graphics engine like Crysis has with the ability to trash your entire environment and merged that with say Starcraft then I think we have something. Right now wow just has too little dynamics. It's the same old same old no matter where you are or what your doing. It lacks a dynamic world. They need to scrap the game and start from scratch

They also need to forget people who have lame computers, they will be compelled to go buy a new machine to play the latest and greatest game thus stimulating the economy. Wow has terrible graphics by today's standards and even the standards that were in place when it was released.

I don't mind the concept of wow, I just dislike the lack of purpose. My favorite game of all time was the old Counterstrike. I like Crysis to simply kill and destroy everything, the game itself lacks something. I use to like the desert combat add on to battlefield 1942.

Still waiting for more cool games to come out. Still running my dual HD4850's, they are old now but still doing the job.
Pleased to meet you. Hope you guess my name

WoW's graphics weren't all that bad when it came out, and compared to its main competition at the time, Everquest, they were way better.

Blizzard has a brilliant market strategy, they deliberately target the average computer in American homes rather than the top of the line equipment. They also make sure their games are intuitive for casual gamers while offering something for the hardcore gamer. This model has consistently made their games the top sellers in the world, with WoW being the top selling MMORPG of all time and Starcraft the top selling game of all time. I wouldn't be surprised if Diablo II is the top selling dungeon crawler (a bit of an outdated genre though) of all time either.

Blizzard doesn't make the best games in the world, but they make games that are appealing to the masses and are consistently good enough.

It's interesting to see we have WoW gold advertised now at the bottom of the page, well at least on my end. From what I understand most of this "gold" now comes from stolen hacked accounts and Chinese and Russian mafia, it's just how big the game has become. I know at least one person that had 30k+ gold stolen from their account not to mention selling everything off, around 100k gold total. It sounds stupid, but it's now big business (and crime).

Blizzard at least is doing all they can to counter this problem with authenticator keys and such. Too bad most of the players are too stupid to even have a good password, let alone use an authenticator key.

WoW attempted to suck the lifeforce out of me like the wraith in stargate atlantis.

Fortunatly it only took 5 years before i managed to break loose.

Now im back on track with school, but those years ill never get back.

My favorite line was "Real life is a threat to my WoW"

Then again i was always in the top guilds with the best gear and mere mortals used to mass around my character to worship me ... ahhh those were the days.

But enough, cant risk going back out of Nostalgia :|

I had played WoW. It was funny at first, but it got a little extreme at the end. It's great! And also fun seeing 3d-vision in action. It looks really good..

Currently I am trying guild wars (just for spur conversation)
So it's a beautiful game. Free internet. And besides, AM, most games any good do that. Just for the heck of it, I guess.

I played for a long time and was very involved in it. I have six level 80's, My main was a tauren protection warrior. I led guilds, raided, accumulated over 100k gold. I haven't played in over four months now, before that I was so irritated by it in general I would just log on and use the AH or do 'dailies'. I thought I would really miss it but I wasn't that bothered in all honesty. I did have a huge gap in my time that took used some to filling in usefully. I do work but due to the nature of my job I get a lot of time off.

I hate to sound like an ex smoker, but you can do so much when you aren't sitting playing video games or watching TV several hours of your day. That's largely why I don't play anymore. I wouldn't call all of those hours wasted. I had some fun, a lot of it was just out of habbit, being at a low point in life. Simply, something to do, well past the enjoyment especially in the later stage.

I still use the internet a lot but I use it in a healthy way. I learn different subjects and constantly revise until it's ground in. I think about things, take part in different discussions on forum boards which makes me think furthermore about life in general, political and controversial subjects.

I'm not bashing WoW, you could use it in a healthy way. I just think when people sit and play it all day to escape their real life that's all it is - a temporary escape. You aren't actually fixing the problems and you can use that time so much more effectively.

That's me by the way: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sh...ll&n=Bullforce

Another bot? They seems to have pinpointed this thread pretty fast.

I used to play WoW back in the days, pre-expansion. Never got into a real good guild but I enjoyed playing anyway. Despite the lack of epics, save for a few from Alterac Valley.

But I am more into DiabloII, currently mostly into the modded version Median XL by Brother Laz, which I can really recommend to anyone who wants to squeeze out another few months/years of that game.
