Thread: Birthday Gift

I just have a simple inquiry, i would appreciate any opinions. What do you get for your girlfriend on her birthday? (looking at 16 years of age)

Nothing typical and nothing that you see in the movies.

That means:

No chocolate
No flowers
etc etc

Find her a gift that is meaningful, something between the two of you that is unique. Don't buy her clothes or cologne, thats her department.

Its hard for me to reccommend a gift because I do not know you or her. What kind of girl is she? What does she like? What are her interests?

If there were one "correct" answer to that, girls' 16th birthdays would be extremely boring.

Try to think what kind of person she is, what gift she might find enjoyable and/or useful. Ideally, the gift might also somehow express your personality - but I stress the word "also". First and foremost, it must be something she will like. Do NOT give her a set of chess if you are a devout player but she never showed any interest in the game.

In this age bracket, your budget will probably be rather limited. That's all right. Do not go for something that will cost you your last penny unless it happens to be THE thing you know she will love.

As 16-years old girl i can say that it's always nice to get flowers as a gift. But i agree that gift depends on her interests.

Does she like to read? Get her an Amazon or Barnes and Noble certificate.
Does she like coffee? Get her a starbucks certificate.
Does she like music and theater? Take her to a show.
Does she like nature? Take her for a hike.

Like they said above, depends on what she's into.


In response to your question, I got my girlfriend a kindle this year. For valentine's day, I always get her a couple of nice bras from victoria's secret. Cheers.

ill say she is a very feminine type, despite the fact that she is a female .

How does a teddy bear sound?? its our first relationship, thus romantic, big presents aren't really going to go well.. (in my opinion)

Take her out to go bowling, do some physical activity. Don't forget to tease her constructively and make her laugh.

Go for a nice walk somewhere afterwards (look at weather reports for the best evening for it).

She will value a nice romantic night like that much more than a teddy bear. When you do go out though do tease her. No in a nasty way but in a way that keeps her on her toes.

Men want sex at first glance is the eqivalent of women wanting the emotional rollercoaster. THEN sex. Rock her world emotionally and you will be well on your way. Just edge the cockiness with humour.

take her kayaking (make sure to get one that is meant for one person if you catch my drift )

i live in Florida and this is easy to do + i really dot mind swimming with the gators lol i don't know about there though.

maybe stop to eat and give her a little gift (hopefully at least in the triple digits)
i guess it depends if you are sexually active though.

A girl of that age must love unique gifts. Give her bracelets or necklace.
