Green. But any colour because it absorbs red. I'm just saying green, nice trick question though.

That's how my neighbor got her son to understand that there's no reasonto be scared of anyone who has dfferent skin than you. She got him to peel 3 apples, one green, one red, and one a little yellow, and then said "Undeneath the skin we all look the same." Yeah, lady, where were you when Hitler was around?

    -sigh-

    What perfect food for thought!

Literal definitons. I love how everybody always sees a metaphor. Colour shouldn't enter your mind as a barrier in the first place. Why should it? Skin colour means superiority? Gimme' a break.

of course skin colour means superiority - that is, a more pigmented skin gives a superior protection against UV light

Thats one case, but I hardly feel it makes one superior. Obese people are superior in the same respect to thin people because they can float in water without moving. Thus giving superior energy to the obese person if they ever need to float for an extended period of time.

Yeah, but if you taste the apples, they really are different.

Mwa ha ha ha ha ha! I conquer you all! 8)

I love how everybody always sees a metaphor.
What is life, if not a metaphor? By the way, if I say apples are like different races, it's a simile. Note the word "like".

Yeah, but if you taste the apples, they really are different.
Perhaps the taste is supposed to symbolize our personalities?

are you implying that people taste different under their skin ?
Hey, marnixR, with some practice, that could become your level of expertise, eh? You can consider that either cannibalism, or the other option which I'm not typing. SHEESH! GET YOUR MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER!

The true race is not in the skin but in the blood!

If your blood is the same colour as mine, we're of one race.

    FWIW, mine is red.

Guess what? Mine is aquamarine with an occasional dash of silver. (Yes I know, it sounds so untrue, but there you have it; the truth is stranger than fiction). And NO, I'm not slashing at my wrists and taking a picture of my blood, so I'm sorry if I've shattered your hopes. Oh, I'm actually from an alien race. Did I mention that? I'm also from the future. I can tell you for certain that you're all going to die.

-I'm looking very proud of myself-

    See? Aren't I amazing?

I'm not from this universe. I come from a parallel universe that is far more advanced than you silly mundanes. AND, we're immortal! And we have horns on our heads, just like this creature you call the "Devil"! There. That's a nice example. Anyway, we are very happy in our world too, the only downsides are the internet connection issues and the wormholes. The internet is the reason I moved to this planet, but you wouldn't believe the rates of our wormhole metro: Wormta! Merciful Martians, that thing is expensive.

Our parallel universe is called: Untitled. Kooky, isn't it? Our creator always did have a weird sense of humor.

It doesn't symbolize anything. It points out the fallacy of trying to argue using an analogy. Your neighbor's son could have noted that important qualities (like taste in an apple) can, in fact, be deduced from outward appearances.

Perhaps so. But it is this analogy that makes us realize how incorrect the way we see the world. So the real colour of a red apple isn't red but we only see the colour red reflected and that is why we say it is red. In that case, our reality isn't what it is. Means we do not know the real essence of everything around us, not even our own essence. So what is the colour of your skin? anything but what u see.

To relate correctly to reality, we mustn’t think that what we are perceiving is the “real” picture. All we are perceiving is how events (Forms) affect our perception (our Matter). Moreover, what we perceive is not the outside, objective picture, but our own reaction to it. We cannot even say if and to what extent the Forms we sense are connected to the Abstract Forms we attach them to. In other words, the fact that we see a red apple as red doesn’t mean that it is actually red.

The analogy doesn't make me realize anything. If I like to use Granny Smith apples to make a pie, I will continue to buy green apples for that purpose, instead of Red Delicious. Wouldn't you?

Putting the analogy aside, yes I would prefer Granny Smith apples since apple pies tastes good with them. Now I'm hungry for an apple pie. And will ponder about red apples not being red while eating them pies.

You gotta stand in a barrel of bat eyes, naked, sing a parody of the star spangled banner, grow a third eye MAGICALLY, and then do an awesome breakdance IN THE SAME BARREL!

But that's just day 1. There's 5 days in all.

Quite simply RED! we call an object that reflects (or emits) red light RED, that is how we define red, it does not matter a poop what color light it absorbs.
