Hypios.com, a new site for scientists
Hey scientists and science geeks,
I'm one of the founders of a project called hypios,
and I thought readers of this forum would be interested to hear about what
we do and how it relates to the scientific community.
Basically, hypios (http://www.hypios.com) is a platform where a company describes a problem it has
(usually in Research and Development) and announces how much it would be
willing to pay for a solution. We post the problem on our site, where
"solvers" like you can see the problem and offer potential solutions. If
the company decides to use one or more of the solutions, they will pay the
solver(s) who submitted those solutions.
There are going to be problems in all fields of science: physics, biology,
chemistry, math, computer science, etc. Right now, we're building a
community of solvers. Based on who signs up now and what their specialties
are, we'll gather more problems in those fields. (If you
want to sign up now, we can notify you when the first problems that match
your interests appear on the site.)
We'd really like to hear what you think about the concept and what we've
done with it so far. Creating an account is absolutely free.
If you want to learn more about how hypios works, we've also put together
a brief video presentation at http://www.hypios.com/solver.
We'll be launching the beta version of the platform in a few weeks. If
anyone has any questions or comments about the concept, we'd love to learn
what you think about the project.
Cheers,
Jeremie, for the hypios team.
