I hypothesize that for every event involving the deletion or leaving behind of items, something will be forgotten. Take, for example, formatting your HD. You have your bookmarks, your chat logs, you made a list of your programs, backed up your digital media...all seems in order, until half way into reinstalling your OS you realize you forgot the config files for Quake 2/JKA/any game/project you had worked on for weeks. AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH.

    Toothbrush? AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGH.
    Comb? AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGH.
    Your 4chan folder? AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGH.
    Your TrueCrypt container? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH
Your OTHER bookmarks (multiple browsers): AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH
Your saved websites from Scrapbook when you realize the Scrapbook folder you saved doesn't actually contain anything?

Why? I'd move it to Humour but we don't have a humour subforum.

Darius, how did you manage to get hold of a picture of me during one of my better moments ?

I don't get it. It's either too simple or just not funny...or both.
Pleased to meet you. Hope you guess my name

I definitely think this forum should have a humour/humor section.

It would be a nice relief from stuffy intellectualism and irritable arguments.

Perhaps it could be kept as far away from the Religion section as possible

I think I have a sense of humour but I know I'm not an intellectual.
If one had to choose I would rather have a very good mind than a sense of humour.
I hope you don't think this makes me a "pompous ass" Absum!

    Not at all

But I do think a sense of humour is a pre-requisite to a 'very good mind' after all things don't seed or grow in a dry arid wasteland.

Intellectualism is all very well and good if you've only got yourself to talk to, but it turns other people off, without a little bit of humour.

i don't see why there should be only one part of the forum where you're allowed to be humorous

    There shouldn't

Just in some parts people seem to forget to bring their SOH with them and get offended at the slightest guffaw

Thats really funny. I always make sure I back up my folders and work, even on data sticks. I always partition my hard drives and transfer data when I can in case I forget something. I bought a new PC recently and forgot some things, fortuantely none of my theories and hypothesis.... Phew...

When you forget it is a nightmare, I left behind my save games for Pokemon Yellow for my GB emulator, my save games for Breath Of Fire III for my PS emulator... NOOOO!!! Gotta catch em' all... Again...

It's like running Vista too. If you don't keep it updated, or don't turn off the user account control you have the Vista Gestapo letting you know about it every five minutes.

I'm suprised Vista doesn't have its own concentration camps its that bad.

Are you sure you want to post this post?
    Definatley sure?
    There's no going back buddy....
I'm telling you, if you do this you won't be able to change it...
    Fine have it your way..
    Knock knock...
    You're coming with us.

    o_O ULP!
