Knowing how cruel humans can be to each other, I am, sadly, unsurprised by the existence of this behavior.

Man can will nothing unless he has first understood that he must count on no one but himself; that he is alone, abandoned on earth in the midst of his infinite responsibilities, without help, with no other aim than the one he sets himself, with no other destiny than the one he forges for himself on this earth.

The video doesn't actually show the kittens being eaten by the sharks. A little homework goes a long way, people.

The article above doesn't say it doesn't happen. At least not that I read. It says it doesn't happen all that much, at least that was my understanding. Even if the video was a complete fake, creating such a video is by itself a very disturbing act.

Agreed, but more along the lines of creating the video to fool the gullible, most likely the clowns from PETA trying to sell t-shirts.

I am pretty sure it is fake! It is a joke, one in pretty poor taste, but a joke none the less. Just look at the website they give at the end: savecatsfromfishermen.com

As an aside, doesn't the guy talking sound like this guy?

I am of the opinion that people who commit crimes against animals should have those very crimes exacted upon them. That would be deterrant enough.

When I lived in edmonton, I heard about two cat serial killers that would crucify cats or hand them by the neck from telephone poles and one group of kids that put a live cat in a microwave and turned it on.

They all got away with a slap on the wrist.

I still wouldn't be surprised if this was happening though.

    Oh that.

It's a huge apparent contradiction in our ethics. It functions like a trap for psychopaths, because its' one of those things "you should just know". I suggest we slam hard those who stray into it. Let this remain superficially irrational.
