For those who don't know about Illuminaties (from the latin origin meaning "the illuminated"), it was a group of men who studied various subjects : physics, astronomy, algebra ... They even tried to prove a link between God and physics and said that Jesus was just a man. The Vatican gave the order to kill every Illiminati (believing they were heritics ^^).
A famous scientist was killed because of his idea of the world being round rather than flat: it was Galileo

What do you think? Were they criminals or great minds who were murdered for the sake of religion?

Well, no. Not exactly. Galileo was placed under house arrest for publications that supported the Copernican notion that the Earth moved around the sun. Giordano Bruno, a contemporary of Galileo, was burnt at the stake for heresy, relating in part to his astronomical views.
However, it was widely accepted at that time that the Earth was a sphere. The Roman Catholic Church had no problem with that.

Plus the fact that the Illuminati society was not founded until 1776.

The Illuminati, they are genius and criminals. Sorry I didn't mean to muddle my comment with others.

They are just people who want to tell people what they know.

    Hi IWANTTOKNOWMORE and welcome.

May I ask you to not reply to old threads that are more than about six months old? It just create more problems than anything else. It is generally considered bad form on forums.

Thanks in advance. I'll close this thread now.
