Ok let me say this start ahead, I am a skeptic on global warming. I know you dont have to destroy me I get enough of it at school. What I have researched is leading me to the fact that in the past between periods of cold there is a period of warm. It happen a few times during the little ice age. Also a found a few graphs that say during the late 1930s global temp. was higher then it is now. Also I have found that Mar is having polar melting too. (if I'm wrong on any facts place state it and a source) So I want to know if we could get in the middle of a ice age or if solar spots I have read about are the cause? Please be as unbais as possible.

I voted yes merely because of the human impact. Yes global warming has come and gone throughout the Earth's lifecycle but without human impacy releasing CFCs into the atmosphere it would not rise so drastically. The human impact may be minimal but we are still making an impact and what we are doing now will effect this planets ecosystem forever.

As everyone knows temperature changes and CO2 in the atmosphere go hand in hand during ice ages. There is, however, a disagreement as to which comes first which then directly leads into the controversary of global warming.

I picked up the newest New Scientist magazine today and they have a short blurb pertaining to CO2 emissions. Evironmental CO2 emissions are a given. Our planet has been going through these sorts of changes since it's birth. According to the magazine pre industrial CO2 in the atmosphere was 270ppm (parts per million) while current levels are at 380ppm. I'm fairly certain that the human impact on the CO2 levels in the atmosphere is minimal but it is still there what with large amount of refridgeration units and aerosols around the world.

It is estimated that the temperature will rise approximately 4C in the coming century which will then add an additional 160ppm CO2 into the atmosphere. This will place it at 540ppm, far above what most scientists agree will create a devastating global climate (450ppm).
