If you use some common sense and some physics, aluminum bats are much more safer than wooden bats in reducing injury, plus helps out in reducing the use of trees. Maneuverability is better with aluminum, since it is lighter and you can make quick adjustments. Also by leading with the handle forward a bit more causes the head to open up more with balls hit above chest height, causes high trajectory.

    Banning aluminum bats is dumb.

This is a science site so you are going to need a little more proof for your argument. As I understand it the ball comes off an aluminum bat faster so it is more dangerous to the pitcher on a ball hit up the middle. Can you prove otherwise? Also, I don't really follow yor argument about the high trajectory.

do you realise how much energy it takes to make aluminium out of bauxite ? have a look at Fred's footprint: A can-load of energy

"Gladstone makes enough aluminium for almost 40 billion cans a year – six for every person on the planet. In doing that, it emits 10 million tonnes of CO2 a year – as much as a typical European city of one million people."
