I'm afraid to ask what planted this seed of doubt.

How is following general consensus a confirmation of the truth? You should learn the statistics for yourself and make up your own mind independently.

The trouble with this following behaviour of human beings is that it means 2 people can convince a third, 3 people can convince a fourth and fifth, five people can convince four more, and so on. Starting from the strength behind two people's idea.

It's the quantity of sceptical people that formulate unbiased opinions independently that count towards learning the truth, and unfortunately that is a tiny minority of the population. And my fear is that this simple human property is also apparent to some degree within science.

True. So, what do you think?

Well my opinion is of no value, as you don't know how much I have been influenced by general consensus, or the quantity of evidence that I have assessed.

But personally, I'm 95% sure that man made global warming due to Co2 emissions is all propaganda. I haven't even read the apparent emails that were hacked out of the IPCC and don't care to. An email must be one of the simplest things to forge.

I suppose you don't think evolution is valid either.
We're all fucked. I can't believe it's 2010 and this is still the mindset.

Of course global warming is real, as global cooling is too. Without specifying natural, antropogenic, timframe, or percentage (if you mean antropogenic) the the answer for our observations in our lifetimes is YES!

Well, you have to give some credit to antropogenic CO2. Otherwise I agree, it is really hyped. Propaganda for the values given to CO2 I would say, but CO2 increases do have a minor role.

Taking a poll amid a group of mostly non-experts on atmospheric sciences is not a good way to confirm anything. Without spending several years of dedicated study to the subject, most people are completely incapable making indepedent accessment of the science.

I suggest you read science related materials and the published opinions of professional groups of scientist who research climate.

The reality is nearly every major group of climate researchers agree that there is significant man-made warming leading the potential climate change in the future.

Studies of peer review published papers also confirm this overwelming view.

Because we have too many of these threads already and the pointlessness of taking a poll of non-experts to conclude anything I'm shutting this one down.
