Thread: environmental engineering jobs

Hello!
I'm a sophomore student in environmental engineering and I was wondering what kind of jobs these people actually have.
I have some ideas such as waste management for industries, pollution control, recycling and so on. But what else is there?

One possibilty is to work for an oil company monitoring and helping to control emissions so they can stay within regulations. There are also specialist firms that oil companies hire to do this for them. This might include climbing tall stacks to take flue gas samples to measure pollutants such as CO and NOx. When you gain a little experience you can sit in the control room drinking coffee and send the new kid up the stack.
