Hello, does anyone know of a signal of some kind that would mess up tech, not blow out circuits and destroy it but do something like cause lights to flicker, or cause cell phones to become non-responsive?

An electromagnetic pulse (EMP) device, but they're not very practical to build on a large scale, for the hobbyist at least. You can probably kill a cellphone with a strong magnet, but not a light bulb.
well I know what an EMP is, but a EMP will destroy the motherboards, etc.. of any tech caught in it. What Im looking for is something that would temporarily disrupt tech NOT destroy it.Originally Posted by bit4bit
Well, that would depend on the intensity of the EMP. The best bet is to knock out the power at the supply temporarily. Maybe not possible wirelessly though.
For radio/wireless devices, it's possible to jam the signal the device is recieving I believe.
Actually, I have a 2'' diameter X 4'' high ultra high power neodymium magnet that I used to try to destroy one of my old cellphones. I put the cell phone on the magnet and the screen went black; I thought it died, but when I took the phone off it returned to normal functionality. I even built a 8 ohm electromagnet running on 16 volts to destroy the cell phone, but to no avail.
