    Hey, I am new to this forum. I am 16 years old and working on a AP physics final project. I have attempted to make a rail-gun. I have has no success. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless

    I can't personally help you with this, but I have seen numerous website which offer tutorials and blueprints for making rail guns as well as YouBoob videos of people firing them.

    Also pay a lot of attention to safety. Most designs rely on capacitor which can be quite dangerous. Better to have a low power rail gun than you've optimized through some objective testing then something slapped together or getting hurt.

    Did someone mention Youtube? (Instructions below) Many youtube videos you can get a quick sample by holding your curser on the video you are interested in before selecting one.

    Woah, hold up do you mean a Proper Railgun or just a little, mini proof of concept experiment?

    Since he said he's 16 and not working in a top secret facility for Raytheon, I'm assuming he means a proof of concept.

    Wasnt there a guy who made a nuclear reactor in his basement to try to get into MIT (and he wasnt accepted), Michion Kaku made a particle accelerator in his mums garage in his teens, and I like to formulate next genration weapons, so you never really know these days.
